Testimonials

The Galloway Training Program has a 98% success rate. We credit much of our success to the relationships the runners develop running in a group setting. Many training programs provide training schedules and tips on running, but leave runners to train on their own or with people who do not match their abilities.

We believe the "Power of the Group"
is the single most important factor to helping our runners complete their goals.

Created by US Olympian, author, and lecturer, Jeff Galloway, this training program is designed for almost anyone and includes segments of walking with running.

I ran the Cancer Coalition Run in the fall of 2005 and, seeing all the ARW people having such a good time together and supporting each other, I decided to give the group a try. Best thing I ever did for my running! The “power of the group” is immeasurable. Not only is it nice to have the training schedule, the variety of routes, water stops, etc. but the fellowship before, during and after the runs makes me look forward to the Saturday runs (yes even the 20+ milers). I also appreciate the fact that the program is structured so that speed is not emphasized, but rather attaining YOUR GOAL of completing a full or half marathon and having fun doing it

I have been running for about 30 years but never had more fun than I have since September running with your groups. You have always been encouraging, helpful, excited at our slow progress and patient with the lack of progress. I can’t imagine making long runs by myself for the next few months. You are great!

The team training really works! You have done a wonderful job. Thank you for all the energy and support and knowledge. I could never have done it without you.

I got started with the Galloway program after returning from Christmas five pounds heavier and getting laughed at by my wife Anna after expressing the interest of joining the running group. I hadn't really done any physical activity other than an occasional basketball game since running cross country for one season in high school. That combined with not being a morning person at all, I wasn't suprised by her reaction, but I wanted to prove her wrong. Six months of training and three half marathons later, I have lost 18 pounds and dropped my cholesterol significantly (under 200 total and 130 LDL for the first time without Lipitor). The most addictive part for me about running is seeing improvements in race times. Being in a good group and knowing that if I stick to it, I'll feel better and continue to set personal records gets me out of bed every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday morning.”

I feel very proud these days of all I have achieved in 9 months. From couch potato to Marathon runner and having fun doing it! My clothes fit better, my attitude is better and LIFE IS GREAT!
Thank you so much for being a HUGE part of this victory for me!

I appreciate the words of encouragement and the advice. As you know I had a hard time even thinking in terms of a marathon when I started. Today's run was a big confidence booster. We had a good run although it got tough toward the end. It really felt great to finish and my legs have not complained too much this afternoon. I soaked them in ice water when I got home and it really helped.

I had a great time yesterday on the run. That's the longest I've ever run, so for the first time I can "envision" myself actually making a full 26.2
Thanks a lot, my feet, knees, ankles, legs, etc are pretty sore today, but it feels good!!! I'm really excited about this program now and I think you've done a great job organizing it and continuing to build people's confidence!
