Albany Run/Walk - A Jeff Galloway Training Program

For Members

The Galloway Training Program has a 98% success rate

Jeff Galloway finished second in the 10,000 meter run at the 1972 U.S. Olympic Trials, then deliberately went from third to fourth place in that year's marathon trial to allow teammate Jack Bacheler to make the Olympic Team. He's run 119 marathons with a best of 2:16.

For the past twenty-five years, Galloway has trained ordinary people to run marathons. His program, which revolves around a progressively longer weekend run done with walking breaks, very low overall mileage, and walking breaks taken during marathon races, has drawn criticism from some competitive runners. Galloway, a special contributor for Runner's World magazine, lives outside of Atlanta, runs about sixty miles a week, but no longer races seriously.
